The Pulse 600 saved my life...

Well, the new trimaran by Corsair saved my sailing life anyway... In short, I found myself without a fleet in my early 40's asking the question "what's next?".  I learned to sail at age 7.  I won my first national championship at 11, was a four-year letter at USMMA with a few national titles in hand by graduation in 1997.  After college, like many others, I continued to sail lasers and V15s though many of my fellow collegiate sailing competitors went into full-time Olympic campaigns.  ... Adventures on a Dash in the Ningaloo Reef

Ningaloo Reef Region This was such an interesting family adventure we decided to share it again! This story was first published Oct. 2014. Enjoy. Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia is a dream come true for snorkelers and divers. Regarded as one of the last great ocean paradises on Earth, it is Australia’s largest fringing reef and lies just metres from the shore in many places, so you can snorkel straight off the beach.  The Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area covers more than 600,000 hectares... Well Built Boats Last

I'm talking about quality builds, not race finish positions. We owned a 1992 MK1 (kimosabi) for 3 years, selling her this past June. It was our third Corsair, having previously owned and raced/cruised a 1992 F-27 (fadin fast) and cruised a 1996 F-31 (kimosabi). We mainly raced our MK1. Our last regatta in 2014 was a great way to retire from Corsair racing. The photo of kimosabi screaming to weather with spray flying was taken at our first place finish in a chase race (reverse handicap) including... Read More »

Cruising the Philippines

MISS VISAYAN is a 28 rs sailed in 2012 from Vietnam. What a joy she is to cruise fast from an island to the next here in Philippines, and to zoom in on the beach without having to carry a heavy cumbersome tender! We have 7200 islands here, plenty to enjoy. The bay of Subic also offers a fabulous opportunity of letting go all the steam of the boat on sundays, with its flat waters and steady breeze.Name: SerioState: Country: Philippines Read More »

Our Greek Sailing Adventure!

This is about a 4 weeks ago, we sailed 1000 miles on a Corsair F24 MKII, starting from Athens Greece, out to Corfu island and back again, with the return being around Peloponissos. Trimaran sailors show commitment!

Excitement is building for the 2014 Corsair Nationals!  Read about one committed sailor from the 2013 Corsair Nationals. Story by Kimball Livingston from Sail Magazine Here’s a game I invented at the 2013 Corsair Nationals. Ask the owner of any of Corsair’s folding trailerable trimarans for an opinion of the boat—and take a step back. You’ll need some extra space to absorb the superlatives. These people don’t just like their boats: they bear the passions of the misunderstood. If we poke Phil... Read More »

Have I told you all lately how much I love my Corsair trimaran?

Testimonial / Memorial Day Weekend 2014 was a great weekend to work on our F-28, Big Storm. She’s been ridden hard and put away wet on numerous occasions, from her first Corsair Nationals at Fort Walton Beach 2005, to gentle (?) groundings at Pensacola Cay, Bahamas, and an unwelcome greeting from an unfriendly dock at Nassau.   So, I was painting the bottom, repairing the centerboard from one of her harder knocks and touching up the many dings accumulated over the years so that she’ll look good...
