The Pulse 600 saved my life...

Well, the new trimaran by Corsair saved my sailing life anyway... In short, I found myself without a fleet in my early 40's asking the question "what's next?".  I learned to sail at age 7.  I won my first national championship at 11, was a four-year letter at USMMA with a few national titles in hand by graduation in 1997.  After college, like many others, I continued to sail lasers and V15s though many of my fellow collegiate sailing competitors went into full-time Olympic campaigns.  ... Here's a good story we thought you might find interesting. First reported by Latitude 38 June 19, 2017— San Francisco Bay You may have noticed a handful of young Italian men sporting Team Maserati shirts in Point Richmond over the past few months. Whether their espressos are pre-paid is a question for Giovanni Soldini, team leader, world-renowned skipper, and owner of the Multi70 trimaran — or MOD70 — Maserati. Truth be told, they have been working full-time to prepare the boat for the start of... Read More »

180 Marine delivers a super special boat for a Chicago family!

180 Marine's delivery of a Sprint 750 MKII into Oceanside, California was a huge success! The family flew in from Chicago and Canada for a few days to sail her in sunny southern California. This boat is especially cool because the family dedicated it to their mother, who recently passed. Her love of elephants is reflected in the custom wrap on the boat. The wrap is a nice gradation of elephant hide texture on the floats and main hull. Mom also loved sailing! This Sprint will be heading out to... Read More »

Heceta Head Lighthouse and Point Lookout Lighthouse

It's that spooky time of year again! Here's a good read... Built in 1892, by a crew of 58, the Heceta Head Lighthouse stands 56 feet tall and shines a beam viewable up to 21 miles away. In 1978, both the lighthouse and its Keepers Quarters were placed on the National Register of Historic Places for "architectural and historical significance". The honor is no joke either - thanks to the relatively isolated location of Heceta Head, the required building materials had to be shipped in during the... Read More »
