Wrapping Up Leg 1 of the Volvo Ocean Race

Exciting things happening with the Volvo Ocean Race today as Leg 1 comes to a close in Cape Town. Jimmy Spithill Named Sailor of the Year!

Last night, Oracle Team USA skipper Jimmy Spithill was presented with the 2014 ISAF male Rolex World Sailor of the Year award at a ceremony in Palma, Spain. Windcraft Trimaran Sailing Clinic with Randy Smyth

Another successful Trimaran Sailing Clinic was hosted October 4-5, 2014 by Corsair Dealer Windcraft at the Fort Walton Beach Yacht Club in the Florida Panhandle. 16 students saw their sailing skills and knowledge dramatically improve over the two days of this clinic, taught by world class multihull sailor and coach Randy Smyth and four assistant coaches. Family takes delivery of a new C28 trimaran in San Francisco

Stacy and Frank Ferree have just taken delivery of a new C28 trimaran. The 28 has had a face lift with a number of improvements. Incorporating Colligo standing rigging, more storage in saloon area and a clean painted surface easy adjustable pop top, and improved floats. Gary Helms did the hand over and has reported back that the improvements are fantastic and the new owners are very happy. From all at Corsair thank you , and smooth sailing Ferree family. Sad Day for "Transit of Venus" Corsair 37

Today I spoke with Corsair 37 owner Rick Waltonsmith for an update on plans following the Pacific Cup: “So this is not good news to share about Transit of Venus. My Corsair 37, the first multihull to complete the Pacific Cup, is a loss. The trimaran hit an unknown object in the middle of the night, at about 10 knots, while returning from Hawaii to Oakland after this race. The crew was rescued, Captain Marc Gounard, crew Arnie Thompson and Tom McCauley are now safe aboard a cargo ship that's... Our Greek Sailing Adventure!

This is about a 4 weeks ago, we sailed 1000 miles on a Corsair F24 MKII, starting from Athens Greece, out to Corfu island and back again, with the return being around Peloponissos.
