Congratulations goes to a trio of brothers from Marblehead this week who took home top honors following a boat race that brought contestants on a more-than-700-mile journey across the Pacific Ocean.

PURE & WILD/FREEBURD

Trevor, Chris, and Tripp Burd, who made up Team “PURE & WILD/FREEBURD", were crowned the winners of the 2017 Race to Alaska, or R2AK, on Thursday afternoon, as they arrived in port to a cheering crowd on a custom-built, 27-foot-long trimaran called “Mama Tried.” Boston Globe Report >>

And…congratulations to the incredibly fast F31R, “BIG BRODERNA" who was just 6 minutes behind. The delta was just a few minutes after 850 + miles of racing!

Team “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN" made up of regular solid BAMA crew guys Stephane and Jeremy are kicking major aspirin on a 20 ft NACRA, they were just in this morning, Monday, June 19.

About the Race
In the last two years of the race only 53% of the teams even finished.

THIS ISN’T FOR EVERYONE
We doubt Larry Ellison and his America’s Cup boats could even finish. We invited him to change our minds.

750 miles of 50 degree water
The inside passage to Alaska has been paddled by native canoes since time immemorial, sailing craft for centuries, and after someone found gold in the Klondike the route was jammed with steamboats full of prospectors elbowing each other out of the way for the promise of fortune.
