Why would I ever consider a trimaran?

As a multihull man, in particular one who loves and sails trimarans, many people ask me “Why would I ever consider a trimaran?” They often say:  1. Trimarans have a smaller accomodation Correct Internal accommodation is compensated by the living space outside. After all when you go sailing you do not want to spend your time inside your cabin, do you? You want to enjoy the environment and atmosphere. Most often we sail the trimarans in warm waters and to get the most out of the time on board, to... Read More »

I'm looking at purchasing a Corsair trimaran for cruising in the Caribbean...

I'm looking at purchasing a corsair trimaran for cruising in the Caribbean. I know the 24 is small but I'm a minimalist and sail alone except when I have family or friends visit, which is maybe 2 weeks a year. I'm also considering a larger boat like an F28. I've spent the last 3 years cruising a 35ft catamaran and have just sold it. I want something that's fun to sail and safe to make the limited own ocean runs between islands. Any input is appreciated. Development Update #16 on the Pulse 600

Another great weekend test sailing the Pulse 600, although the breeze was a little shifty, but we were able to test the carbon bowsprit. Until the bigger spinnaker arrives the flying head sail had to do but don't worry, we still managed to have plenty of fun. Some great reaching runs saw the leeward floats pressed at times and speeds in the high teens. We'll have some video footage soon to come however the boat, again, performed really well. We were also pleased to have Gerhard from Langkawi... Read More »

Development Update #15 on the Pulse 600

Following some great sailing last weekend on hull 3, it really feels like this Pulse is getting its rhythm! We had decent wind conditions with 12-15 kts of breeze in semi-sheltered waters and the boat just felt fantastic. We were running without the bowsprit option (coming soon) and had some great screacher runs where the boat really got up and started to sing. As if the blood wasn’t pumping enough, skimming along at around 13-16 kts with the kite up, it was time to test the rudder balance. It... Read More »
