2017 Multihull Solutions Regatta

With winds reaching high 20's only three of the Corsair Pulse 600 trimarans decided to brave the conditions, but this did not diminish the excitement of the class. Paul Baker/John Priestly aboard Pulse Yellow  claimed victory in the first race of the event. Andrew DeBruin's Multihull Solutions H30 snatched the second race and the overall lead by the end of day one. A costly mistake for Java Racing left them with a DNF in third and a lot of work recover from their penalty. Paul Baker/John... Read More »

Folding Corsair trimarans: Legendary ability, unbeatable reliability

Corsair trimarans fold on water, off water and with effortless ease. Most models fold within the width of similar-lengthed monohulls!  This allows a level of versatility unachievable in a conventional trimaran due to the huge beam required for high performance sailing. Simply put, in our 30 year experience, for a trimaran to be viable for most users, it must be able to fold with ease and not increase its length when folded. Here's how we fit a boat with 6.8m beam into into a 2.5m berth. Four... Read More »

Corsair 760 Trimaran Test Sail Review

Last week saw the launch of not one, but two of Corsairs newest 24’ trimarans, the Corsair 760. Hulls 1 and 2 were launched within hours of each other though each was sailed on opposite sides of the world. This enabled both boats to simultaneously sailed and tested in very different conditions. One, tested by our brave colleagues in Germany who have been waiting for the ice to melt all winter, finally were able to throw on their dry suits and brave the icy conditions in winds in the upper 20’s... Three hulls, four legs: trimaran sailing with pets

Last week as I was motoring through the waterways around Stockholm having just wrapped up the Stockholm in water boat show. I came across the Cruze 970 YOLO, Bosse and his wife were motoring out into the bay to do some sailing while the weather was still warm. YOLO is a fantastic Cruze 970, it's always great to see her out on the water but what was really fantastic to see was that they had their furry, four legged friend on board. I caught up with Bosse later that day and learned that he takes... Read More »

Sailing the Pulse 600 in Amsterdam

Today i had the pleasure of meeting up with the team from Nibor Marine at their dock space on lake Ijsselmeer, just outside of Amsterdam. The births on lake Ijsselmeer are quite narrow, only allowing narrow beamed monohulls under normal circumstances. For the Pulse, this was not an issue. We simply folded one beam to fit the nimble trimaran through the pylons, unfolded and then off we went for a great day on the water high speed trimaran sailing. When we left the dock the winds were quite light... Read More »
